Special Needs

Our Learning Support team aims to support students' learning progress by:

  • supporting students' academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual development
  • supporting parents by discussing with parents their children's progress and parental concerns, and by assisting with access to relevant resources and/or relevant guidance personnel
  • supporting teachers with identification of student needs and appropriate planning, strategies and resources

We will be assisting students with disabilities, learning difficulties and extension/enrichment needs. Support occurs mainly in class where students are assisted in developing independent study/work strategies.

Speech Therapy

Private sessions arranged through Hills Kids Speech Pathology using Lobethal Lutheran School facilities

Professional bodies

Further support if needed.

Music

Using the expertise of current staff members, music is encouraged and taken into all classrooms. Students use music skills during special concerts each year, and also in the Worship services. Private tutors are available to teach music during and after school hours — in 2007 piano and guitar tuition is offered. We also have a school choir that practices regularly, and performs on special occasions. Children from Years 3–7 have an opportunity to join the choir if they wish.
